Between 2008 And 2010, 30 Big Corporations Spent More Lobbying Washington Than They Paid In Income T...

A report released this month by Public Campaign demonstrates just how important it is for Americans to battle corporate special interests and reclaim our democracy. The group’s research finds that thirty big corporations actually spent more money lobbying the federal government between 2008 and 2010 than they spent in taxes. For example, General Electric — one of the top 10 most profitable companies in the world — got a net tax rebate of $4.7 billion during this period. Meanwhile, it spent $84 million lobbying the federal government.
I guess they got what they paid for.

Plutocratic Oligarcy is here to stay.
And the Occupy Wall Streets Evictions are the West's versions of Tiananmen Square.
Now, the MSM wants Newt to take over the country (just an observation; don't want to have it bumped to City Hall; I hate City Hall).

It looks like the money for lobbying was well spent by GE. Rather than being angry at the corporations, maybe you should direct your anger at the corrupt politicians that took the money and wrote the tax laws that benefited the corporations. Obviously they are seriously lacking in character and shouldn't be in the positions that they hold. Just a thought.

Your link goes to Thinkprogress.com...
They quote from "Public Campaign"
Public Campaign poses as a non-profit "non-partisan" organization... Whenever I see that I check the board of directors...
Did you check that board??? A former Dem State Senator, a former AFL-CIO head, Deputy Director from
"Labor Network for Sustainability"....
Hardly "non-partisan"
What I cannot find is any solid info that these guys used to make this judgement...
Where are the facts? I'd like to see them.
No doubt there is something to this, but I question this groups math. Makes me wonder what the truth really is.

The supreme court ruled that corporations are people...
But the law still requires all lobbyists to register
Bush signed the New Federal Lobbying Disclosure Rules into law. Also in September 2007 he signed the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act... (The current President is so Open and Honest he doesn't even have to live by those laws)

Whenever you see corporations attacked, you know the people attacking them have a socialist or communist mindset. They would prefer the government run corporations, and they want to run the government through their unions or left wing originations.

THEY SURE DID, THE LOBBYISTS BOUGHT A PRESIDENT WHO CAMPAIGNED ON "NO MORE LOBBYISTS IN THE WHITE HOUSE". Forget the small time stuff, they bought the President. Look at the happy smile on GE CEO Jeff Imelt's face. Or the smile on the Solyndra Investors. Ka-ching, ka-ching!

Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac spent 100s of millions to be able to package arsenic laced mortgages to be sold on the open market. Ka-ching, ka-ching.
Obama wants to spend stimulus funds paid by working people for unions and to many unemployed who just want to play on their computers and watch tv while further gutting Social Security.

I don't think affairs are the issue here. I think politicians who work for their own benefit are the issue. Corporations/lobbyists can only bring their needs to elected officials and they have the right to do so. It's what the elected officials do with this that is the problem.

And YES! Their fair share is a bigger percentage of thier income than is paid by people with less. After all it is the charitable nature of corporations that put us in this mess!
