We know its not the people that work for comcast they get there's for free . Now we know why we have to pay through the nose for cable each month that and they are the only cable provider in my state. That called a monopoly didn't the feds break up ma bell for doing the exact same thing in the 70's

Comcast isn't the only provider doing it. Dish has the several commercials also. It's the networks. Oh. Time to go. Happy Feet is on. Oh wait. It's still a commercial.

Anyone Remember When Cable TV had little or no commercials?
Now they have these really long, long mini-info commercials on "History" and History 2.
What happened?
Even the local Detroit ABC, NBC, CBS affiliates run hours of info-commercials during the afternoon hours.

I am suing geiko.... I have worn out the mute button on two remote controls because every other commercial is that stupid lizard. I canceled my dish network TV, and will cancel my commicast internet as soon as the tech from At&t UVERSE shows up to run some new wiring. And for less than the other two combined. If you don't protest by sending a finiancial message to these corporations they will keep feeding us the same old crap because they know they have us by the short hairs.

Comcast has nothing to do with the numer of commercials you see in a program.
You need to be blaming the channel - not the provider.
The same amount of commercials would be on regardless of the provider.

10 to 14 commercials at every break and an added infomercials to woo the customers?!$%#
Censored forums and commercials will keep your base from collapsing?
Looks as though comcast only has one good service the Speed that they charge you for your internet
Soon, if not all, most providers will catch and pass comcast in internet speed.
They take an hour movie and extend it for 2 1/2 hour commercial spin, surfing is almost funny,90% of the surf you will hit commercials RLMAO
We interrupt this commercial to bring you this special commercial about a soon to be released commercial.
Also a soon to be released popup that will be seen on ANY page you surf to.

I've racked my brain to find an easy way around this. We pay cable so we don't have to live with commercials. We buy DVDs so we don't have to put up with that crap. What do we get? Commercials. Everything is about money. So how do you break it? Laws only invite costly court battles that go on and on and on and on... And, and, and...
The best thing that could happen to this country is co-ops. We buy the time slots and stations to spoon feed us the stuff we want to watch. That means that we get to establish how much time we're willing to put up with when it comes to advertising. If you want no more than 3 minutes per 15 dedicated to keeping the lights on... Then do that. Advertisers would soon realize that paying a little more for the adds would mean that their voices wouldn't be lost in a chorus of money grubbing foofoo adds. They'd no longer be buried under a deluge of ads about erectile dysfunction remedies, passion poultices, trendy designer drugs, stock trade services, cars we can't afford, and advertisements about headlines in the news. You want sanity? Put sanity in the mix. That is how you break the back of the insanity one-upmanship we're seeing via the major networks and the satellite & cable vendors.
We have far more control over our environments than we've allowed ourselves to be conditioned to believe that we have.
I'm just sayin...

It's easier to just tape it on a vcr (some programs no longer let you fast foward with the DVR anymore).
Problem solved - no more commercials.

We like to watch Law and Order, L&O SVU or NCIS reruns in the early evening. This is the first period in years we can sit in front of the TV for a while..... or we watch PBS. So, the first one home turns on the set, finds the best station, starts the show and pushes pause. An hour or two later we sit down to watch.
Sometimes we will store an hour and a half or more of commercials and we just fast-forward after that.
Shhh, If this catches on CC will figure a way around it. I can't stand commercials and when I was younger (much younger) I thought this will never catch on.....too disruptive......hooo boy was I wrong.

Do you really believe what you wrote? We pay for cable for one reason. Access to channels outside our viewing area, and to programming not available over the air. Unless I'm mistaken, Comcast PAYS the stations to run their shows, they don't get paid, which sounds like what some posters believe. As a cable channel, such as History or Biography, gain viewership, the channel will generally raise the cost it charges cable operators to show that program. Instead of $0.25 per customer, they may up it to $0.50. The cost is passed on to you. Don't like it? Get the most basic cable you can, or just watch over the air channels. Good luck if you live in a rural area. If it was Comcast inserting all these commercials, why on earth would Comcast put commercials for ATT, Dish or DirectTV on their programming? Lastly, CBS is paying Ashton Kucher almost a mil an episode for 2-1/2 men, not Comcast. CBS wants their money back. How do they get it? Commercials.
