1. Mr. Ortega-Hernandez' criminal past would NEVER qualify him for a firearm ....under current OR the New law passed by the House today.

2. Question: Anyone in the media looking into his citizenship status?

My take on this is it matters not whether the man was liberal, conservative, or whatever and it does not matter if he believed in gun ownership rights or not, the darn fool had no business firing a gun at the White House or any other house. Throw the idiot in jail and be done with it.

I agree.
I think many people are trying to analyze this too much and put more meaning behind it than is actually there..
He is a nut who shouldn't carry any kind of weapon and he needs to be locked up.
His politics hardly matter.

An "advocate for hate"?    Shame on you.   I guess no one is allowed to criticize the policies of past administrations without being accused of hate-mongering in your eyes.   If so, then there are an awful lot of people "advocating for hate" on this forum, aren't there?

By the way, the guy who took the shots wasn't "frustrated."   He has a long history of mental instability and is in custody.   But it's interesting that you feel you know him well enough to speak to his motives.

He wasn't there and that was very obvious in the news, so I don't think anyone was a specific victim.  I think it was just general frustration acted out in an illegal, dangerous and unjustified manner.

Obama, himself, has been an advocate for hate..........hate against Bush, the GOP, the Rich, the US in general, ad infinitum.  He needs to be a unifier, not a divider, because it's causing a build up of hate from the top down.

We have enough hate and prejudice in this world already.  We need our leaders to give good examples by being openminded and fair, not judgemental and instigators.

White House shooting suspect faces attempted assassination charge
Ortega-Hernandez was charged with attempted assassination, Assistant U.S. Attorney Jimmy Kitchen said Thursday at the suspect's initial court hearing in Pittsburgh. The charge carries a possible maximum penalty of life in prison and a $250,000 fine.
At the brief hearing, Ortega-Hernandez spoke once, answering "yes, ma'am" when Magistrate Cynthia Eddy asked if he understood what his federal defender had said on his behalf.

Mr. Kitchen, nail him to the wall. Then get to work on the Solyndra deal & get a few there at 1400 P. Ave.

And liberty and justice for all,
FOR THE BORN AND THE UNBORN.
