I don't know how common this is but it is unacceptable. I don't care how you feel about the POTUS, shooting at his home should have you put away for good.
I hope they catch you!

Bullet hit White House window

The Secret Service says a bullet hit a White House window, but was stopped by bulletproof glass.
The service also announced that it has found the bullet as well as a round of ammunition recovered from the exterior of the White House grounds.
The discoveries Tuesday came after reports of gunfire near the White House on Friday.
This has all taken place since President Obama left for a nine-day trip to Hawaii, Australia and Indonesia.

I hope this was not intended for his family!

And liberty and justice for all,

Why does the media always make the story about the firearm?   It is almost a secondary "Oh-by-the -way" comment that the firearm was used by a known nut job.   Sounds like an agenda is being pushed.

The hate factor is so high in America that, I'm sorry to say, this is likely only the beginning.

Someone want to explain how this thread even remotely resembles politics?

The Secret Service has an arrest warrant out for Oscar Ortega-Hernandez.  Hmmmm, maybe Obama shouldn't count too heavily on the hispanic vote after all.

There are millions of people in this country who are getting more and more desperate about their situation.  This is absolutely NOT the answer, but it may be indicative of the way things are headed.  When a pot is left on the fire for too long, sooner or later it will boil over.

I deeply dislike this man as a POTUS, but under no circumstances do I want him hurt.

He wasn't there and that was very obvious in the news, so I don't think anyone was a specific victim.  I think it was just general frustration acted out in an illegal, dangerous and unjustified manner.

Obama, himself, has been an advocate for hate..........hate against Bush, the GOP, the Rich, the US in general, ad infinitum.  He needs to be a unifier, not a divider, because it's causing a build up of hate from the top down.

We have enough hate and prejudice in this world already.  We need our leaders to give good examples by being openminded and fair, not judgemental and instigators.

If this nut job is stupid enough to take a shot at the White House, he's not bright enough to know whether Obama's there or not.
We can expect all the usual suspects to jump in front of a TV camera to shout about more gun control.
There's a bill, in the House, now that would allow those with concealed carry permits to carry in 49 states. Not in IL or DC though. Both jurisdictions are too liberal to allow citizens to protect themselves. I mean, if states like CA, NY, and MA allow CCW, how bad could a national CCW law be? It'll never get past the Senate, though. The Dem. Libs. are against personal protection. For everyone except themselves, that is. :smileymad:

I disagree with federal CCW legislation, and hope the Senate does deep six it.

Leave it to the states.

I'm astonished at how some on the far right want the fed gov't out of state business.........unless it's for something they feel strongly about.

Shooting at the White House for a political statement is like pissing in the air to cool down the sun,  moronic

Shooting at the White House to injure anybody inside, with a typical hand held firearm is futile the White House is "bullet proof" up to
  and including .50 BMG rounds.

Shooting at the White House in hope of hitting the POTUS when he is out of the country is....well it speaks volumes about the
  shooter.

I have no love for Barrack Hussein Obama (peace be upon him) however he is the legally elected President of the United States, as
such I would still feel the need to protect his life if I were present.

I hope someone catches this idiot .

And this is why so many of us no longer post or respond to this forum , The Mods apparently live in a myopic sheltered world where anything that remotely touches on the subject of politics or controversy is taboo.

ANd you are an advocate for peace and love? See it takes two, you say he should be a uniter, but yet disapprove of everything he has tried to unite. People must want to be united before any man can unite.

So, let the states decide on CCW legislation, but don't let them decide on immigration legislation.  Too many people want to pick-and-choose too much on issues like this.

The problem RV is that this IS a federal issue under the 2cd ammendment.  I agree, most of the time the state should reserve the right to decide who can do what in their state, except Federal Constutionally guaranteed rights.  I see this as not alot different from Driver's Licenses being accepted across state boundaries ( although driving on public ways is not a right, but a priivelege).  This, I think, is why it was introduced in to the US Senate.....and if I am not mistaken, not by someone normally considered a Right Wing extremist.....
In all actuality though......seems like there are a whole lot more important things to be considered than something like this, but it is under the realm of Federal purview.

Interesting point. President Obama has been preaching division, class warfare and hate  -  a true disciple of Saul Alinsky.

Yes, and if the states do something that counters the constitution, it's the role of the SC to make the final decision......not for Congress to legislate it.
